Diane & Jacqueline

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to look at our story and beginning to get to know us. We are grateful that you want to learn about us and our dream of becoming parents.

We have known each other for almost 20 years! We attended the same high school at different times, and knew each other well through mutual friends. We lost touch during Diane’s college years, but reconnected after running into one another at a friend’s birthday party. We communicated for a few months, getting to know each other again, and began dating in 2009. We moved into a small apartment where our love began to grow. A few years later, we were able to move into a house, right next door to Diane’s parents! This is where we still currently reside and cannot wait to create new memories here as parents.

In 2016, Jackie asked Diane’s only female cousin to help her pick out a ring. She proposed a few months later and we began planning our wedding for the spring of 2018. Our April wedding was chilly, but sunny, and we were so lucky to be surrounded by so many friends and family as we danced the night away! We decided soon thereafter to begin the next chapter of our story by starting a family, and we cannot wait to open our hearts and our home to a child.

Meet Diane

I grew up in a suburban neighborhood with my parents and my older brother. He and I were best friends growing up, and still are. I enjoyed being a part of many different sports teams all throughout childhood, and still hold friendships from those teams. I enjoyed being a part of many different sports teams all throughout childhood, and still hold friendships from those teams. I attended a private all-girls high school, where I played varsity soccer and softball.

I always enjoyed the sciences in school, so I majored in biology in college, where I played on the soccer team. I acquired a Master’s in Evolution and Ecology and, later, began my career with the county as a health inspector. I love the idea that my job helps keep the public and community safe from illness.

My thirst for knowledge is not quite quenched yet. I currently am pursuing another Master’s in public health in the hopes of furthering my career and having a greater influence in the community. While I am known by my family and friends as someone who always wants to learn, I can also lay back and have a fun time. I am excited to share my love of school and my love of having fun with a child.

Meet Jackie

I always felt like the luckiest kid in the world because my grandmother lived with us! We spent summer mornings in the garden with her before heading off to play with our neighborhood friends. My parents allowed my three older sisters and I to walk to our local Catholic school daily. Then, I attended the same private all-girls high school that Diane would attend four years later. My parents allowed my three older sisters and I to walk to our local Catholic school daily. Then, I attended the same private all-girls high school that Diane would attend four years later. I was a three-sport varsity athlete, participating in soccer, basketball, and track. I went on to play soccer in college, where, unfortunately, an injury ended my career early.

I completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education and Health and a Master’s of Science in Physical Education. I was thrilled to be offered a position as a Phys. Ed. teacher at my alma mater where I taught for 12 years. I was then asked to take on the role of Assistant Athletic Director at the school. It is so rewarding to play a role in the development of young athletes, both on and off the fields and courts. My career has allowed me to have a direct effect on young lives and I cannot wait to watch a child grow and blossom!

Our Home

Diane always loved the neighborhood where she grew up, which is a good thing because we currently live right next door to her childhood home! Not only are one set of potential grandparents right next door, but we are so happy to be within close proximity to several other family members. This makes for fun, unplanned family gatherings on the weekends!

Not only are one set of potential grandparents right next door, but we are so happy to be within close proximity to several other family members. This makes for fun, unplanned family gatherings on the weekends!

Our suburban neighborhood has many convenient things within walking distance. There are several parks, playgrounds, and a walking trail nearby, which makes it a great place for young families. Our house has a large kitchen and living room, where we spend most of our time, but our favorite part of our home is the spacious front porch. There, we are frequently seen enjoying our bright yellow rocking chairs. We also enjoy campfires and watching sports on our projection screen in our back yard. This will be the spot for outdoor movie nights in the future!

Being only 15 minutes from downtown Buffalo is the perfect mix for us: suburban community feel mixed with the close proximity of all the city has to offer. We enjoy heading downtown for dinner, a concert, or a Sabres game. Because we are not too far from the downtown area, it will make taking a child to the zoo or the Children’s Museum convenient and fun.

Our Family

We both come from bigger families with lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. Gatherings are always the highlight, with twenty-something people having a BBQ, celebrating a birthday, or simply enjoying each other over a holiday.

Both of our moms and dads already help take care of our nieces and nephews, and they are so excited to add another child to the group! They are already talking about running around with another little one. Our five nieces and nephews are all under the age of six, and playing with them keeps us on our toes. It’s amazing to be so close with our siblings and their families. We are so excited to one day see a child playing with their cousins.

We both are lucky enough to have adult cousins that are more like siblings, so birthday and holiday traditions run thick on both sides! For example, Diane’s family does an annual cookie bake where everyone comes together to make cut-outs and listen to Christmas music. Jackie and her sisters and cousins keep the family tradition alive by making fresh pasta for the holidays! It is so important to us and our families to share these things together and pass on the traditions to the next generation.

Diane has recently started a new adventure by joining the local triathlon club and competing in races. She also enjoys playing softball, but reads and does puzzles to relax. Jackie’s Italian heritage shines through in the kitchen. She loves cooking her grandmother’s recipes and also attempting new dishes. We love our date nights and going to both local and out-of-town museums and attractions, and we surprise each other once a year with a new experience we’ve coined as our “Mystery Date.”

We have combined our love of sports and travel by going to see various sporting events in different cities. We have been to many places to attend games and explore what the cities’ have to offer. We even went to the NFL draft in Nashville for our honeymoon! We are avid followers of all sports, but our passion is for the Bills, Sabres, and Florida Gators. We travel down to Florida to see the Gators play and visit Diane’s aunt every other year. We are often caught wearing our Bills and Gator gear, and we both have dreamed of rooting for our teams with a new little Gator/Bills fan!

Thank you for taking the time to look at our book and getting to know us. We are dreaming every day of what our life may be like with a beautiful child in it, and we are grateful that you have taken the time to consider us.

We do not know what you are going through, but we can promise to give a child all of our love and acceptance. We truly believe that we can provide a child with a happy, healthy home, with a large loving family and lots of laughs.

We would be happy to meet you while you are on your journey, and exchange letters and pictures as time goes by. Most importantly, we will always be open and honest with a child about how brave and selfless their birth mother was in her difficult decision.

We wish you the best as you decide what is right for you and your baby, and we hope to hear from you someday soon.

Jackie and Diane

We were honored to be featured on ParentFinder's social media pages this month! We decided to share their post on our own Facebook pages, and the results were amazing! So many family and friends had kind words and shared our information on their own pages. Even some friends that we hadn't heard from in a long time or were once childhood friends asked us questions and shared the links, sharing the hope of making a connection. We are hopeful that something like this could help bring a brave, selfless expectant mother into our lives that would be right for us to share this journey with. In the meantime, we are enjoying our summer BBQing with family or sitting on our porch!
